“리틀라이트하우스 아카데미를 26개월 아이의 첫 학교로 선택한 것은 정말 최고의 선택이었다고 생각합니다. 깨끗하게 잘 관리되어 있는 학교에는 아이의 창의력과 상상력을 자극시켜주는 교구들과 책들이 많아서 좋았습니다. 한주 한주 다양한 주제를 탐구 할 수 있도록 짜여진 커리큘럼은 아이의 학습동기와 욕구를 높여주었습니다. 오감을 자극하는 환경속에서 친구들과 함께 사물을 만지고 탐구 하면서 아이가 자연스럽게 배움의 즐거움을 알아가고 있는 것 같습니다.

특히, 하원길에 학교에서 배운것들을 재잘재잘 자랑하고, 즐겁게 노래하며, 집에 돌아와서는 배운 것들을 응용해서 노는 모습을 볼 때면 학교에서 많은 것들을 배우고 경험하고 왔구나를 알수 있었습니다.

골고루 짜여진 다양한 식단과 건강한 간식은 편식이 심한 저희 아이의 음식의 스펙트럼을 넓혀주었고 이제는 거부감 없이 새로운 음식을 도전할 줄 아는 아이가 되었습니다. 사진과 영상이 담긴 꼼꼼한 선생님의 리뷰를 통해 작은 사회에서 일어나는 여러가지 일들과 아이의 상태를 알 수가 있어서, 집에서 아이를 교육하고 훈육하는데도 정말 많은 도움을 받고 있습니다. 무엇보다, 사랑가득, 정성을 다해 보살펴주시는 선생님과 건강한 정서가 무럭무럭 자라날수 있도록 격려해주시는 스테프들이 계셔서 안심하고 아이를 맡길 수 있다는 점이 가장 만족스럽습니다. 다소, 먼 거리에서 통학을 하고 있어 처음에는 아이가 힘들어 하지 않을까 걱정했지만 아이가 아침에 눈을 떠서 설레는 마음으로 학교갈 준비를 하고 등교길에 오늘은 어떤 재미있는 것들을 배울지 한껏 부품 마음으로 이야기 나누는 모습을 보면서 이제는 매일 매일 기대가 큽니다.”

“We truly believe that choosing Little Lighthouse Academy as our 26-month-old child’s first school was the best decision we could have made. The school is well-maintained and clean, and it's filled with books and educational materials that spark creativity and imagination. In an environment that stimulates all five senses, our child has been naturally discovering the joy of learning by touching and exploring things together with friends. Although the commute is a bit long, we initially worried whether it would be too tiring for our child. “When choosing a preschool, I spent a lot of time looking beyond beautiful classrooms and fun activities. What mattered most to me was finding a school with a philosophy that truly respected childhood while also giving me confidence that my child was developing the skills needed for the next stage of learning.

Little Lighthouse Academy was one of the few places where I felt I didn’t have to choose between those two goals. I loved that the program is Reggio-inspired, giving children the freedom to explore, create, ask questions, and follow their natural curiosity. At the same time, the teachers intentionally track developmental milestones and age-appropriate learning, giving parents a clear understanding of each child’s progress. Finding a school that nurtures imagination and independence while also providing thoughtful structure and guidance felt incredibly rare, and it was exactly what we had been looking for.

After just five months, the growth we’ve seen has been remarkable. Before preschool, one of my biggest concerns was social development. What has impressed me most is how intentionally social-emotional learning is woven into every part of the day. These aren’t lessons taught during a specific activity—they’re part of the school’s culture and something the children experience every day.

I’m also continually impressed by how thoughtfully the teaching team approaches each theme and topic. Rather than simply introducing new vocabulary or teaching isolated concepts, they encourage children to investigate, ask questions, make connections, and extend their thinking through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Every activity feels intentional, and it’s amazing to see how naturally children’s curiosity leads to deeper learning. Time and time again, I’ve found myself surprised by the depth of understanding my child brings home.

One of the greatest strengths of Little Lighthouse Academy is the partnership they build with families. Before each month begins, we receive a newsletter introducing the upcoming themes and weekly learning focus, allowing us to continue those conversations and experiences at home. Their daily updates go far beyond simply sharing photos or listing activities. They provide thoughtful insights into what the children are learning, why certain experiences were planned, and how families can build on that learning at home. That continuity between school and home has been incredibly meaningful for our family, and I truly believe it helps children feel supported and connected in both environments.

“LLA를 선택한 것은 저희 가족에게 정말 큰 행운이었습니다.

제가 LLA를 가장 신뢰하게 된 이유는 원장선생님에 대한 믿음입니다. 초등학교 교사 경험이 있으셔서인지 아이가 어떤 행동을 보이거나 어려움을 겪을 때 단순히 결과만 보시는 것이 아니라 그 이유와 배경을 누구보다 빠르게 이해해 주십니다. 상담을 할 때마다 ‘우리 아이를 정말 잘 이해하고 계시는구나’라는 생각이 들었고, 부모와의 소통도 무엇보다 중요하게 생각하셔서 늘 함께 아이를 키워가는 파트너라는 느낌을 받았습니다. 부모의 이야기도 진심으로 들어주시고, 선생님의 생각도 아낌없이 나눠주셔서 아이를 믿고 맡길 수 있었습니다.

식사도 정말 만족스럽습니다. 매일 정성스럽고 균형 있게 준비된 식사는 물론이고, 아이들이 새로운 음식을 부담 없이 경험하고 한입이라도 더 먹어볼 수 있도록 따뜻하게 격려해 주시는 모습이 참 좋았습니다. 억지로 강요하는 것이 아니라 아이 스스로 건강한 식습관을 만들어 갈 수 있도록 도와주시는 세심함이 느껴졌습니다.

레지오 에밀리아 교육 철학을 바탕으로 아이들이 프로젝트를 통해 놀이하듯 배우고, 자신이 관심 있는 주제를 깊이 탐구할 수 있다는 점도 LLA의 큰 장점이라고 생각합니다. 정해진 답을 배우는 것이 아니라 스스로 생각하고 질문하며 배울 수 있는 환경이 참 마음에 들었습니다.

“Our daughter is our 2nd child and so we’ve toured many schools and have tried many schools between our first and second. LLA is truly so special and we couldn’t be happier.

We get a lot of updates and so much communication that we never have to guess. The staff provide so much care to the kids and are so intentional.

We know they truly try to individualize care because I see the intention they put behind the goals they set for her along with the resources. She gets to do so many different kinds of activities and gets so much exposure to new ideas and topics.

특히 식습관에도 큰 변화가 있었습니다. 원래는 먹는 것에 큰 흥미가 없던 아이였는데, 리틀라이트하우스에서 영양을 고려한 다양한 식단을 경험하면서 새로운 음식도 즐겁게 먹게 되었고, 식사 시간 자체를 좋아하게 되었습니다. 부모로서는 무엇보다 기쁘고 감사한 변화였습니다.
